Middle school south Presents “Mulan Jr.”

–Photos Courtesy of Howell Middle School South HOWELL – Sending a message of self confidence and the importance of family, the Howell Middle School South Players recently staged their dazzling production of Disney’s “Mulan Jr.,” a heartwarming celebration of Ancient Chinese culture, honor and a fighting spirit with the story of young girl proving that with courage, intelligence and determination, a girl can bring honor to her family as much as any boy.

‘Mulan Jr.’ staged at Middle School South

HOWELL – The Howell Middle School South Players presented “Disney’s Mulan Jr.” from April 2-4.

The sold-out show depicted the story of the Chinese legend of Mulan (played by Kelsey Seaman and Stephanie Hanvey), who proves that with courage, intelligence and determination, a girl can bring honor to her family as much as any boy.

Cast members included Courtney Kalafsky, Ronnie Roszkowski, Ben Nissen, Michael Labetti and Matthew Sulewski.

Also, Marisa Rotando, Meghan Smith, Samantha Leonardis, Allie Ambriano, Samantha Sayah, Roxanne Mc- Claren and Giana Chianca.

Under the direction of Gillian Bryck, along with technical director and choreographer Cindy Lutz and producer Arthur J. Perez, approximately 100 Howell Middle School South students participated in the production, performing jobs in front of the curtain as well as behind the scenes.

Also on board helping to create ancient China were Vicki Lee, stage choreographer, Derrick Hulse and Mike Moorman, who designed and built the set, and costumer Jacquie Revier.

Art teacher Diane Eleneski and her art club students painted the set with Chinese artistry.

In addition, the parent support team constructed the set, volunteered to chaperone, fundraise, and work on the nights of the performances.
